SEEN is a growing community of educators, champions, and change agents from across Scotland’s Universities and Colleges. Together, we’re working to make entrepreneurial education (EE) accessible to all students — in all disciplines — by helping institutions implement Theme IV (Curriculum) of the Scottish Government’s Entrepreneurial Campus Blueprint (ECB).

We believe entrepreneurial education enhances employability, innovation, and personal empowerment, equipping graduates with the creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills needed to shape Scotland’s future.

  • “Entrepreneurial Education isn’t just about starting businesses — it’s about enabling every learner to spot opportunities, create value, and make a difference.”

  • A National Network for Entrepreneurial Educators

SEEN (Scottish Entrepreneurial Educators Network) connects and supports educators who want to embed entrepreneurial mindsets and methods into teaching and learning at every level of Scotland’s tertiary education system.

We’re led by Edinburgh Napier University and the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) under the guidance of the Entrepreneurial Campus Blueprint (ECB) Curriculum Working Group.

  • Our mission is to:

Build a coalition of the willing across universities and colleges

Share and co-create teaching resources and learning artefacts

Enhance educator capability and confidence in entrepreneurship education

Showcase Scotland’s best practice nationally and internationally

  • This is a multi-year change project — our first phase runs through March 2026, supported by the Scottish Government through the Ecosystem Fund.

  • Why Entrepreneurial Education Matters

Entrepreneurial Education (EE) develops the competencies identified by the QAA (2018) and EntreComp Framework, such as:

    Creative thinking and problem-solving

    Curiosity, empathy, and adaptability

    Collaboration and communication

    Opportunity recognition and value creation

    Self-leadership, initiative, and resilience

  • EE is not limited to business modules — it applies to any discipline that uses experiential learning, ambiguity, and collaboration with real-world stakeholders. Embedding EE in every subject helps students:

    Develop confidence and employability skills

Apply their knowledge to real-world challenges

Contribute to Scotland’s innovation and social wellbeing

  • What We're Doing

We’re turning vision into action through four key strands:

    A. Network and Map Scotland’s Entrepreneurial Educators

We’re identifying change agents and champions at every institution, creating a database and national map of Scotland’s entrepreneurial education landscape.

    B. Collate and Share Good Practice

We’re meeting with champions to gather existing frameworks, teaching materials, and learning artefacts, identifying what works and where the gaps are.

    C. Commission New Open Educational Resources (OERs)

We’re funding the development of new, shareable digital teaching resources to support educators embedding entrepreneurship into their modules.

    D. Disseminate and Celebrate

Through regional workshops, national webinars, and a National Showcase Event, we’ll share success stories, highlight best practice, and inspire further innovation.
